Summer is almost over and it feels like it just began . . . It's been soooo busy!!! Auntie Kayla and Uncle Ryan got married June 20th and then we had Uncle Shane and Auntie Kristi's wedding on June 27th. The 4th of July was fun at Cotton Lake with Granny and on Buffalo Lake with the Okeson's. Brock is already almost 4 1/2 years old and Baby August is going to be 6 months old . . . time goes by so fast. August has many nicknames . . . some call him Augie, some call him Bearcub, but I call him Gus, as you can tell. Baby Gus is starting to eat food . . . his favorite is sweet potatoes. He's not so fond of the peas . . . He is rolling over and close to sitting up. He has a few tricks he likes to do and he thinks he is really funny . . . he sticks out his lower lip like he is pouting and he shakes his head back and forth like he is saying "no". He cracks us up. Gus is an unbelievably mellow kid and such a joy to have around. Brock is so proud to be BIG BROTHER!!! Brock was in pre-school last year and will go again this year, he is getting to be such a smarty pants. He loves to play with legos, puzzles and farm animals in his barn. He also likes being outside at the lake and on the 4-wheeler with dad. I asked him what he was going to be when he gets older and he said a FARMER, just like Grandpa Russell and Uncle Chad and Uncle Joe.
Funny Story . . . One day I was bringing Brock and another kid, Carter to preschool, it was shortly after I had baby Gus and Brock said to Carter, "What animal are you Carter?" Carter responded, "I'm not an animal Brock." Brock said, "Oh yeah, well, my family, we're animals . . . my baby's a bearcub . . . my dad's a buffalo . . . I'm a pig . . . and my mom . . . she's a COW, cause she has milk."
He's just such a spitfire, you never know what he is going to say!!
We look forward to the rest of the summer!! Mike, Becky and Owen will be here the 1st week of August and we also have Justin Okeson & Sarah's wedding that same weekend, then it will be We-Fest and then my friend Elissa gets married the middle of August. To top it off, my dad is retiring from the DNR the end of August!!!!
